Health Care Agency Public Information Officer 

The Ventura County Health Care Agency understands our responsibility to keep the public and the media informed about matters of public interest and public health. We are committed to sharing important information while maintaining our patients’ right to privacy. 

The Public Information Officer supports the five departments under the Health Care Agency: 

• Ventura County Medical Center & Santa Paula Hospital 
• Ambulatory Care Clinics 
• Behavioral Health Department 
• Public Health Department 
• Health Care Plan

Please direct all media inquiries to the Public Information Officer for assistance.

Important Notes for Media Partners:  

• Members of the media must be accompanied by an Agency representative when on hospital or clinic premises. 
  • Members of the media should contact the Public Information Office for coordination assistance.
• We respect our patient’s right to privacy and protecting patient information is the law. Staff at all of our facilities are required to adhere to The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • HIPAA governs the release of health care information.
  • There are no exceptions for inquiries from the media within HIPAA law.
