Health Care Agency is a public health system comprised of a public health department, 34 ambulatory care clinics, a behavioral health department, two public hospitals, and health care plan for county employees and their dependents.
Public Health employs a dedicated and diverse team of over 400 staff work to prevent epidemics, spread of disease, and injuries; promote and encourage healthy living opportunities; respond to disasters and assist communities in recovery; and assure the quality and accessibility of preventive and health care services throughout the County.
Ambulatory Care is a system of primary care and specialty care medical clinics conveniently located throughout the County of Ventura. In keeping with the mission of the Ventura County Health Care Agency, our team of dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals seek to set the standard in health care excellence.
The Ventura County Behavioral Health Department provides mental health and substance use treatment services for those with severe mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, as an integrated component of the Ventura County Health Care Agency. The Crisis and Referral Line (1-866-998-2243) is the entry point for access to all Ventura County Behavioral Health Services
Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) is a fully-integrated, comprehensive system of hospital, clinic and specialty services. The system provides access to high quality, compassionate health care to residents throughout Ventura County.
Santa Paula Hospital offers a comprehensive list of inpatient and outpatient services and full-service departments for diagnostic procedure, treatment, aftercare and ongoing care.
The Ventura County Health Care Plan (VCHCP) is a service oriented, County sponsored Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) that offers an extensive range of benefits and low out-of-pocket expenses.
Established during the 1993-94 fiscal year, the Ventura County Health Care Plan was developed as a practical and cost effective option for providing health care services to County employees and their covered dependents.
