Parents as Teachers promotes the optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.

Our Public Health Social Workers focus on positive youth development by building strengths, values, goals, and resilience. They promote the development of collaboration between integrated systems of care to support clients during pregnancy and parenthood, supporting their children, and aid clients to be self-sufficient and lead healthy lifestyles and make healthy lifestyle choices. Our social workers respect the unique, culturally defined needs of our various client populations and communities.

Who Is Eligible?

  • A member of CalWorks

  • A parent or caretaker relative of a child less than 12 months of age at the time of enrollment

  • Pregnant
