Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program

Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) is a statewide program that provides enhanced reimbursement for a wide range of services to Medi-Cal eligible pregnant and postpartum women. The CPSP model was founded on the belief that pregnancy and birth outcomes improve when routine obstetric care (prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care) is integrated with specific nutrition, health education, and psychosocial services.

CPSP will be undergoing a transition from local to state oversight. This transition only applies to the role of the Perinatal Service Coordinator. With the transition of CPSP on the horizon here is what you should know:

What is this transition all about?
This transition only applies to the Perinatal Service Coordinator (PSC) role and responsibility related to CPSP activities supporting Provider Enrollment, Technical Assistance/Training, and ensuring Monitoring/Oversight.

With the new PSC role, there is also a new PSC:
Layne Casillas Sr. PHN and NFP Supervisor with MCAH
Layne.Casillas@ventura.org

Will there be any changes with CPSP services delivery and reimbursement?
There are no anticipated changes to the CPSP program, including reimbursement of the CPSP providers currently. All related CPSP Medi-Cal billing should be directed to Medi-Cal Telephone Service Center at 1-800-541-5555.

When will this change and transition start?
Transition will start July 1, 2023.

Who to contact or send a new CPSP Provider enrollment?
Applications can be sent to CPSPProviderEnrollment@cdph.ca.gov.

How about updates to applications?
Updates to applications can be sent to CPSPProviderEnrollment@cdph.ca.gov.

We will be requesting a provider’s status report that needs to get completed for each clinic. This local form will be attached in the program clinic file. The completed form should be emailed to CPSPadministration@ventura.org.

If you have any questions about the transition, please direct them to Layne Casillas and CPSP Administration.
