Health Care Programs for the Uninsured of Ventura County

This program covers routine doctor visits, X-rays, lab work, urgent care and emergency room visits, mental health visits and prescription drugs—all with a minimal co-pay. For more information, visit or call 805-981-5070.

Ace Program for Kids

Offers eligible uninsured children medical services at limited cost at VCMC and all County clinics. For more information, visit or call 866-481-7674.

CCS (California Children Services)

California Children’s Services (CCS) is a state program for children with certain diseases or health problems. Through this program, children up to 21 years of age can get the health care and services they need for specific conditions. These conditions include: cleft palate, leukemia, cancer, heart conditions, complications due to premature birth, cerebral palsy, and uncontrolled or difficult to control diabetes. CDP (Cancer Detection Program)

Every Woman Counts is a program for women in need of a mammogram but do not have medical insurance. Once diagnosed, this program may assist with treatment expenses. For more information, contact CDP at 800-824-0088.

CHDP (Child Health and Disability Prevention)

This program provides “Well Child” check ups including, immunizations, physicals, dental, vision, hearing, lead/anemia/TB exams. This program is for low-income children through designated providers. Medi-Cal provides full or limited medical coverage based on eligibility criteria.

One-Stop Clinic

This clinic offers a wide array of services for people who are homeless and those at risk for homelessness. The One-Stop Clinic is open every Tuesday 10 am to 1 pm at 3147 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. For more information, please call 805-652-6694.

Self-Pay Discount Program

Patients who have no insurance coverage and who are not eligible for any of the other available programs may apply for discounted rates. For more information, visit Self-Pay Discount Program or call 805-648-9553.

WIC (Women, Infants and Children)

This program assists pregnant women, new parents, and infants or children under the age of five get nutrition education, vouchers for healthy supplemental foods, and helps find healthcare and other community services. For more information, visit WIC or call 805-981-5251.

Health Care for All

Health Care for All helps Ventura County families access health care services by helping them apply for health coverage. Our trained Certified Application Assistors help individuals at no charge, apply for Medi-Cal, Covered California and other low-cost insurance programs. We have several locations around the County, and we make the insurance enrollment and renewal process easier to access and understand. This program is funded through Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH).

Youth and Young Adults Medi-Cal Expansion Program (ages 19-26)

The Youth and Young Adult Medi-Cal Expansion Program provides youth (0-18) and young adults ages 19-26 with Medi-Cal Coverage regardless of legal/immigration status as long as they meet income eligibility requirements. If your child is 0-26 years of age they are eligible for health coverage. Children/young adults may also be enrolled for CHDP or CCS. Family income cannot exceed 266% federal poverty level. For example, young adult (ages 19-26): A family of four cannot exceed $31,535 income annually and a family of six cannot exceed $47,735;child (ages 0-18): A family of four cannot exceed $68,495 income annually and a family of six cannot exceed $92,010.
